They said it couldn’t be done!

Monday, November 9th, 2009

After a serious cycling accident and arthroscopic surgery on my right knee, I was told that I would never be able to run again.  However, I continued to swim and cycle, and my knee improved – but not to the point that allowed me to run.

Then, I was introduced to LubriSyn!!!  After using it for 30 days, I was able to run a little, and pain-free!!

I have now used LubriSyn for 3 months, and can run 3 miles pain-free.  The beauty of LubriSyn is that it has worked for me, and has NO side effects.  This 58-year-old grandma is delighted with the product!

Sincerely,

Dr. Colleen Isdale, Chiropractor

What does molecular weight have to do with it?

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

The molecular weight – i.e. the size of the HA molecule – has everything to do with the effectiveness of a particular HA product. As we all know, there are lots of HA products on the market these days. Not all of them are effective, and some of them may actually be harmful.

Low molecular weight HA is essentially made up of fragments of the big HA molecules that are native to the human body. It has nowhere near the effectiveness of high molecular weight HA, and according to some studies, may even cause infammation.

The HA in Lubrisyn precisely matches the molecular weight of the HA that’s native to the human body.

I’ve heard a lot about glucosamine and chondroitin, is HA similar?

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

Not at all. Glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate are found in supplement products designed for osteoarthritis sufferers, intended to help revitalze and heal cartilage. Unfortunately, since these products were first released onto the market, research has shown that they’re no more effective than placebos (sugar pills) in helping osteoarthitis sufferers to build or repair cartilage.

HA is a different compound altogether. Not specific to any one part of the body, it is distributed widely in connective tissues and membranes, but is found in particular concentration in joints, where it is a key component of synovial fluid.

Fifteen Grams

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

That’s how much HA is present in a human body at any one time. A full third of that – five grams – degrades and is re-syntheized every day. Unfortunately, the body’s ability to re-synthesize HA degrades with age, leaving less and less for preforming critical tasks like keeping our joints and connective tissues well- lubricated. Fortunately, HA can be replenished in the body through oral supplements like Lubrisyn.

What is HA?

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

HA stands for “hyaluronic acid” or “hylaluronan.” It’s a naturally occurring part of synovial fluid, the liquid that cushions your joints. HA is f also found in the vitreous gel inside eyes, in cartilage, in heart valves and in skin, where it’s involved in tissue repair.
